TV Fanatics Jim Garner, Christine Laskodi, Allison Nichols and Amanda Steinmetz are joined by Gareth from Once Upon a Fan to debate Emma’s ability to fight the darkness, Merida’s appearance in the Enchanted Forest and their favorite couple after watching "The Dark Swan.
Did you think Emma would be able to fight off becoming the Dark One?
Jim: It was touch and go there at the beginning before her family showed up. Though things got better once Family got involved.
Christine: When the episode started, I had a lot of hope that maybe it would be a one-off type of thing and that she would fight it off. Emma has always been incredibly strong, so it seemed to be something that was probable. But as everything unfolded with her and Rumple, and she got to feel the darkness, it was obvious where it was going.
Allison: I always knew at some point, she would give in. It would have been really lame to have this twist without Emma ever actually going dark. I'm really enjoying watching her struggle to fight it off. I'm curious about what finally pushes her into the darkness.
Gareth: I had a feeling the darkness would end up taking control. I think it might be like the ring in Lord of the Rings. The longer Emma is tethered to the dagger, the more it wields it's will over her. Something has obviously happened to Emma during her time in Camelot which has pushed her over the edge. She clearly blames the residents of Storybrooke for something. The flashbacks in Camelot should be interesting this year. I can't wait to find out what went down.
Amanda: It was always a possibility that should would, but that would have been terrible considering the show's promotion of Emma becoming the Dark One. I'm excited to see this side of her, and to watch the darkness battle it out with the light inside of her.

Here is the description of Once Upon A Time: Red’s Untold Tale:
Red is 16 and lives with Granny in a cottage in the village, where boarding up the house and hiding during Wolfstime is a means of survival. Red help's Granny with Granny's baked good business, catering as well as door-to-door sales. Red has a constant internal battle between her wild side and her strict, overprotective upbringing, and the issue of "control" as she discovers she has a hot temper when the "mean girls" push her too far. ("When we learn to control it, we needn't fear it," Rumpelstiltskin says in the series.) She has flashbacks to her 13th year when she received her cloak and the nickname "Red." Plagued by nightmares she doesn't understand and a temper she can't control, Red struggles to save Granny's troubled business and to nurture her budding romance with Peter, even as the betrayal of her classmates awakens the wolf within.

Wind whips through sails as I step foot onto a pirate ship for the San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Marked Men party. There are many costumed partygoers in attendance, mermaids and a plethora of pirates among them. There are also fair maidens dressed as princesses, though not of the Disney variety. Or are they?
As I make my way downstairs to the third level, there are microphones in place and band members standing at the ready. The lights change as a familiar-looking pirate steps out from a back area and makes his way to the stage. He approaches a mic, then moves to a second. waving his hooked hand. Looking up at the audience above him, he smiles. “‘Ello, mates! Welcome to the Marked Men party, on board my Jolly Roger. Just one second, please.” He stops and takes a swig from his jug, shouting spiritedly after he finishes. “Normally you won’t find this on ABC, but we’re not on ABC, are we?” he asks the crowd.
No. This is not ABC, nor is this an episode of the network’s series Once Upon A Time. This is Once Upon A Time: The Rock Opera.
